Witness: Art and Civil Rights in the Sixties, in observance of the fiftieth anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, offered a focused look at painting, sculpture, graphics, and photography from a decade defined by social protest and American race relations. Indiana's paintings The Black Yield Brother III (1963–64) and Alabama (1965) were included.

The exhibition traveled to the Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, August 30–December 14, 2014, and the Blanton Museum of Art, the University of Texas at Austin, Austin, Texas, February 15–May 10, 2015.
