Robert Indiana, Early Works was the artist's first solo exhibition in Spain. Among the works in the show were the paintings Ginkgo (1960), Terre Haute (1960), The Sweet Mystery (1959–62), The Slips (1959–60), and The American Sweetheart (1959–61), and the 1964 scuptures Column Eat, Column Die, Column Hug, and Column Eat/Hug/Die.
