Description

Indiana painted a series of small Yield Brother canvases in the 1960s which he dedicated and gifted to friends. Yield Brother John was painted for the pianist John Wustman. Wustman performed Virgil Thomson’s composition “Edges (A Portrait of Robert Indiana)” for its debut at a recital of Thomson's music at Indiana's Spring Street studio on December 30, 1966.
